Rick Parnham and Bryan Davies were inspired by the 100 year anniversary of the Sault Golf Club. They embarked on a researching and writing adventure that discovered that the region had a far deeper and richer history to tell. The pair combined their storytelling passions to create a book that reveals an in depth golf and regional history of the “Twin Saults.” A Century of Sault Golf connects discussions of the importance of the region’s transportation corridors for early exploration of the continent, the industrialization along the river, the economic booms and busts, and tales of prohibition and cultural conflicts; all intertwined with the history of golf in the region. The book features contributions from notable Canadian golf architects, Graham Cooke, Les Furber and Kevin Holmes, along with a foreword from curling legend and Sault native Brad Jacobs. The authors have committed $5 from every book sold to be provided to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation which is a benefactor of efforts of Team Jacobs.
